Tell me it’s not forever

In the beginning
We played on cool grass
And laughed from our bellies

Our road diverged
It would have been a goodbye
But neither of us could leave

Now you’ve been gone
Hundred full moons
I no longer breathe
Our destiny it seems
Now shattered
By bars
And keys lost at sea

    1. It’s interesting how this evolved. I started with 9 stanzas but kept whittling away all the unnecessary until I had this. I like it but it’s not exactly what I originally planned, meaning, the original idea will take form and appear soon :)

Penny for your thoughts...
